WHO IS BETTER??
The battle over the MCW Cruiserweight Championship
Maryland Championship Wrestling has announced that reigning MCW Cruiserweight Champion DEREK FRAZIER will defend the title against 2007 Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup Winner JOSH DANIELS, at MCW MONSTER MASH, Sunday, November 4th, at the MCW Arena in Dundalk, MD.
For Daniels, it's another chance to win the Cruiserweight title. To do it, he must defeat Frazier again. He defeated Frazier in the opening round of SHAMROCK CUP VII. Daniels used that momentum to later upset "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels in the final fall of the Shamrock Cup Finale. The positive momentum continue as MCW announced that Daniels would wrestle Frazier at KICKOFF CHAOS. And, in what many considered of the match of the night, Daniels and Frazier wrestled to a 15-minute draw. Daniels, and the crowd wanted 5 more minutes, but the champion decided against that. Frazier took the belt and left the arena. Now, Frazier must face Daniels again. Can Frazier defeat the one man that seems to haunt him the most? For Frazier, he believes he has to.
"I will defeat him. I must defeat him," says Frazier. "See, the fans don't understand. Shamrock Cup VII was supposed to be my night to shine. It was my destiny to win the Cup this year, especially after coming so close to winning it last year, before Ruckus stole that away from me. Then, here comes Josh Daniels this year. This man wasn't even in the tournament when they announced the field. He was a substitute! And, he wins the whole damn thing! He wins MY Cup. And now, he wants my title. Well, he will never be champion, not as long as I'm champion. I will pin Daniels or make him submit, and eliminate him from title contention forever. This is still my year. And I will continue to steal the show."
Daniels sees things a little differently. "I saw an opportunity, pure and simple. When Danny (McDevitt) called me and asked me to fill in at Shamrock VII, I saw it as an opportunity to start over in MCW. Not that there was anything wrong with my first stint, which saw me win the Rage TV Championship. But The Shamrock Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments in wrestling. I knew I had to make an impact. By luck of the draw, I had to wrestle Derek. And I beat him. No one was going to stop me that night. Not Frazier, Ruckus, Tornado, Christopher Daniels....no one! I carved my name into history that night, as the 6th man to win the Cup. Now, I have my eyes set on championship gold. And with beating Frazier once already, I decided to concentrate on winning that title. I bring a new style to the cruiserweight division. Something that Frazier isn't used to. I will use that to my advantage and win the Cruiserweight title."
