STORY OF THE YEAR

WINNER: CHRISTIAN YORK JOINS CREATIVE CONTROL (31.4%)
It has been an up-and-down year for York. After losing his match against then-champion Adam Flash, Creative Control made York become "The Fabulous Fabian," teaming with Nicky Benz. However, York defied Creative Control, and ditched the "Fabian" persona at Shamrock Cup VII. But people began to question what was going on with Christian York. York missed MCW Monster Mash, citing that he received a note from Danny McDevitt to not show up. It was later revealed that York was working with Creative Control all along, striking a deal that saw him cash in his title opportunity and defeat his former partner Joey Matthews, and win the MCW Heavyweight Title. York's alliance with Creative Control was the most surprising event amongst the fans and the wrestlers themselves.

1st RUNNER-UP: JOEY MATTHEWS RETURNS TO MCW (22.8%)

The match was originally announced as Derek Frazier vs. Alex Shelley. However, Shelly found out, before he went to the ring, that he would not be getting a rematch for the Cruiserweight Championship. Feeling wronged, Shelly launched a sit-down, as he would not leave the ring until he got a suitable replacement. That replacement would be the former 3-time WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion & the only man to hold every title in MCW, Joey Matthews. Matthews surprised the capacity crowd of 1,200 in Bel Air, and scored a victory over Alex Shelley. Matthews' return to MCW shocked everyone, including Creative Control, who spent the entire year trying to destroy Matthews and end his career.

2nd RUNNER-UP: KIMBERLEY MCDEVITT & ZACHARY SHANE RETURN TO MCW (20.0%)
We thought they were gone forever. But at Xtreme Measures, Kim & Zach returned to surprise everyone, including Danny McDevitt, who was so distraught, he left the company for a short while. Kim & Zach have wreaked havoc in MCW since their return. And, in 2008, they, along with Creative Control, promise to continue to do the same.

3rd RUNNER-UP:PATRICK BRINK & TYLER HILTON LEAVE MCW (14.2%)
It was one of the biggest feuds of the year. One that ended when both men announced that they were leaving MCW, to pursue new career opportunities in Florida. The MCW fans were shocked with the announcement, and saluted them during their final match at Holiday Homecoming.

MOST POPULAR WRESTLER OF THE YEAR

WINNER: JOEY MATTHEWS (50.0%)
Surprising everyone at Aggravated Assault, Matthews made his return, and has been red hot since, much to the dismay of Creative Control. Kimberley McDevitt and company focused on taking Matthews out. At one point, they humiliated him by shaving his head. But Matthews would fight back. Fans cheered as Matthews ended the year-long reign of former Heavyweight Champion Adam Flash. And the fans continued to cheer, as Matthews would successfully keep the title away from Creative Control, until his former best friend, Christian York, joined Creative Control, in order to take the title off Matthews. Even with that loss, fans continue to support Matthews. And with the undeniable support, Matthews is named MCW's Most Popular Wrestler of The Year. With a 30% differential, Matthews wins with the largest margin of victory in any category.

1st RUNNER-UP: DANNY DORING (19.4%)
The former ECW World Tag Team Champion and former MCW Heavyweight & Tag Team Champion continues to have the support of the MCW fans. Doring also had to deal with Creative Control this year, with his former partner Danny Jaxx betraying him, and costing him the Heavyweight title at Shamrock Cup VII. But the fans continued to support him, as he not only had to fight off Danny Jaxx & Creative Control, but also Phat Blues, Inc. and company, as they attacked the Baltimore Ravens. It was Doring who came to their aid, and enlisted them as partners, defeating Buzz Stryker, Doyle Day, & Buck Chyld in a handicap match at Kickoff Chaos.

2nd RUNNER-UP: PATRICK BRINK (13.8%)
Brink had a lot of fan support this year, starting in the beginning of the year with his feud with his former Tag Team Championship partner The Bruiser. But even Brink didn't realize how much fan support he had, until the fans voted him into the Rage TV title match against Tyler Hilton. Brink rewarded them, by defeating Hilton and winning his first singles championship. Had it not been for the fans, Brink would have never enjoyed his first taste of singles championship success.

3rd RUNNER-UP: JOSH DANIELS (11.1%)
If there is a wrestler who has earned the respect of the MCW fans the hard way, it is Josh Daniels. At the beginning of the year, Daniels was absent from the roster. However, when Matt Sydal pulled out of the Shamrock Cup (as he signed a WWE developmental contract), Daniels stepped up to the plate, and hit a Grand Slam. Daniels upset then-Cruiserweight Champion Derek Frazier in the first round. And then, Daniels would shock everyone, by defeating "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels in the final fall, to win Shamrock Cup VII. Fans would grow to love the intensity that Daniels brought to every match. And his dramatic chase of the Cruiserweight Championship caused fans to get behind him, and follow him all the way to his title victory at Holiday Homecoming.

MOST HATED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR

WINNER: TOM BRANDI (38.8%)
Fans love to hate Tom Brandi. And some would say that it goes both ways. Over the past year, Brandi has managed to upset everyone from Danny McDevitt to Joey Matthews to every MCW fan. Being the loudest member of Creative Control will certainly draw the hatred from the fans. Was it his attitude? His statements? The whistle? Who knows? But the fans have voiced their opinion, naming Brandi as the man they hate the most in 2007.

1st RUNNER-UP: CHRISTIAN YORK (36.1%)
If this vote had taken place before Holiday Homecoming, York would have been one of the frontrunners for Most Popular. However, his shocking turn against his partner Joey Matthews, and subsequent robbery of the Heavyweight Championship, have made MCW fans change their opinion about York. Perhaps the fans didn't forget about "The Fabulous Fabian" either. "Fabian" was another character that MCW fans hated. You add those two together, and you give the fans a lot of reasons to despise Christian York.

2nd RUNNER-UP: ZACHARY SHANE (19.4%)
Fans and wrestlers had to sit and watch Shane make his return to MCW this past May, only to brag about what he had done. Shane managed to win the heart of Kimberley McDevitt, much to the surprise and dismay of Danny McDevitt. Every time he had a chance, Shane rubbed it in Danny's face, until he couldn't take it anymore. This war culminated in a violent Street Fight that saw Shane on the losing end. However, in Zach's eyes, he got the girl. Therefore, he won the war. And that's a fact that fans refused to swallow.

3rd RUNNER-UP: TYLER HILTON (5.5%)
Hilton never missed a chance to inform the public that he was the former leader of The Rehoboth Beach Crew, a former reality TV star, and the perfect person to win the Television Championship. And by the end of the year, Hilton had won the title 3 times, and retired the championship. Fans loved to boo him. By Holiday Homecoming, the fans grew to respect him, as they cheered his victory over Patrick Brink to win the TV title. Perhaps that new found respect caused some fans to change their opinion about making him the most hated of the year.

TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR

WINNER: BLKOUT (RUCKUS & SABIAN) (41.6%)
Exciting matches, like the one against LAX early last year, made BLKOUT one of the most popular tag teams in MCW history. Ruckus & Sabian would ride that momentum, and win the Tag Team Championship at Aggravated Assault. Despite losing the titles later in the year, Ruckus & Sabian made everyone take notice that they were the team to beat in 2007.

1st RUNNER-UP: THE GHETTO MAFIA (33.3%)
When Dope added Creed to the Ghetto Mafia, many teams took notice, as this version of the Mafia would prove to be the most dangerous combination of the Mafia ever. After having great matches against the likes of the former Tag Team Champion New Age Outlaws, The Ghetto Mafia would go on to win the MCW Tag Team Championship, a title that they hold this day, In 2008, they will be many challengers to the titles. But Dope & Creed are ready. Can any team take the titles from The Ghetto Mafia?

2nd RUNNER-UP: RYAN McBRIDE & TEDDY STIGMA (11.1%)
There's no doubt that Ryan & Teddy have made everyone take notice, since they made their debut in MCW in 2007. Thus far, they are undefeated in tag team competition. That record earned them a title match at Holiday Homecoming. However, they were unable to compete for the belts, as The Headliners knocked them out of competition. Now, in 2008, McBride & Stigma hope to rebound and get back into title contention.

3rd RUNNER-UP: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS (DOYLE DAY & BUCK CHYLD) (8.3%)
Doyle & Buck surprised Phat Blues, Inc. when they decided to break out on their own, and go after the tag titles. They fell short of achieving that goal, but BOBW were always in the title hunt. And when they weren't, they were in the main event, battling Danny Doring & Baltimore Ravens' Jeff Blackshear at Kickoff Chaos.

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR

WINNER: RYAN McBRIDE & TEDDY STIGMA (51.6%)
MCW has had a rich history with its' tag team division. Explosive teams like York/Matthews, The Backseat Boys, The Holy Rollers, The Briscoe Brothers, and more. Now, enter McBride & Stigma! This team came into MCW with a lot of fanfare, and has taken the MCW tag team division by storm. This young team has surprised many established teams in MCW, and, at one point, were the #1 contenders for the tag titles. In 2008, McBride & Stigma's goal is to become the new MCW Tag Team Champions. And with this much support, it is very likely that their goal will be achieved.

1st RUNNER-UP: DEVON MOORE (38.7%)
Devon Moore has a huge following in the northeast, formerly wrestling in CZW & ROH. His feuds against Ian Rotten, Trent Acid, & Too Cold Scorpio have made fans everywhere take notice. Moore is no stranger to championship gold, winning gold in northeast federations like CCW, AWA, WXW, and PWU - Pro Wrestling Unplugged, where he defeated Too Cold Scorpio to win their Heavyweight Championship. Moore made his debut in MCW, defeating the former MCW Tag Team Champion Sabian, at Holiday Homecoming. Moore followed that up by attacking the new Cruiserweight Champion Josh Daniels. Moore has made it clear that he will win the Cruiserweight Title in 2008. Judging by past history, the likelihood of that happening is very high.

2nd RUNNER-UP: THE HEADLINERS (6.4%)
Bobby Starr promised everyone that he had a tag team that will shake up things in MCW. That team would be Ramblin Rich & Jimmy Jannetty. The Headliners would win their debut match at Monster Mash, then knock out McBride & Stigma, and take their title match at Holiday Homecoming. Now, they are in a feud with the young team, as they try to prove that youth can not beat experience.

3rd RUNNER-UP: JOSEPH BROOKS (3.2%)
Brooks made his debut at Holiday Homecoming, defeating Champ Champaigne. Brooks impressed someone so much, that when this mystery lady purchased the contracts of The Rehoboth Beach Crew, she signed Brooks to an exclusive RBC contract. Brooks, now known as JB, will join LK and made their debut as the new RBC at Anniversary '08
