Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Sandman is best known for his career with ECW – Extreme Championship Wrestling, where he was known as “The Hardcore Icon.” Sandman recently worked for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), wrestling on the ECW and RAW brands from June 2006 to September 2007. 

 

Sandman made his debut in 1992, as a part of the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance. He would join ECW in April 1992, later feuding with Tommy Cairo, Tommy Dreamer, Cactus Jack, Shane Douglas, The Public Enemy, Raven, Sabu, and The Dudley Boyz. 

 

Sandman has held the ECW World Heavyweight Championship five times:

-defeating Don Muraco on 11-16-92

-defeating Shane Douglas on 4-15-92

-defeating Mikey Whipwreck & Steve Austin (3-way dance) on 12-9-95

-defeating Stevie Richards (subbing for Raven) on 10-5-96

-defeating Steve Corino & Justin Credible on 1-7-01 

 

He also teamed up with 2 Cold Scorpio to reign as ECW World Tag Team Champions in late 1995. 

 

Sandman would also compete in World Championship Wrestling, Xtreme Pro Wrestling, Pro-Pain Pro-Wrestling, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
