In 2008 Danny Doring lost a Loser Leaves Town match to The Bruiser. Later that year, an old favorite returned as SugarMask made his way back to MCW action. Many speculated that it was in fact Doring, but until proving, no one could ban SugarMask from wrestling. Sugarmask eventually worked his way up the ranks and earned a title shot against then MCW Heavyweight Champion Christian York. After some great back and forth action, SugarMask pinned York to presumably become the new MCW Heavyweight champion. However, later that night MCW Commissioner Kelly Bell came to the ring and insisted that SugarMask either reveal himself so that the integrity of the MCW Title could be protected and we know who would be defending the title or SugarMask would have to relinquish the belt. SugarMask reluctantly gave up the belt to protect his identity.

All this time, The Bruiser was fuming. "I know its Doring and the moron Bell knows its Doring." stated the former 5 time champ. Unless SugarMask was unmasked, no one had the proof. Finally The Bruiser laid it all out. He demanded one last match against SugarMask with special stipulations. If Bruiser won, SugarMask would have to unmask in the ring and reveal himself to the fans, Kelly Bell and The Bruiser. IF Bruiser lost, Danny Doring would be reinstated to MCW. There was a major change the day of the event as SugarMask called the MCW Offices stating that he was sick and would not be able to make the show. Enter Stevie Richards. Richards, like many MCW fans, was a fan of SugarMask and more importantly is a longtime friend of Danny Doring. Richards saw the opportunity to help out a friend and give the fans a suitable replacement in a heavily promoted match. So Richards volunteered his services in the match. If Stevie won, Doring would be reinstated. IF Stevie lost, SugarMask would have to reveal his identity. The end came with Bruiser locking on the Bruise-Mission and Richards tapped out.

Kelly Bell still wanted to give the fans one last taste of Sugar, so he put together a special 4 way tag team match with the MCW Titles at stake. One team he personally selected to be in the match was Stevie Richards and Sugarmask. SugarMask shocked the fans as he turned on Richards at the end of the match, causing Stevie to get pinned. Just as the ref counted 3, SugarMask took off the mask revealing himself to in fact be DANNY DORING!

Now MCW has no choice but to permanently ban Danny Doring, SugarMask and any other masked new comer who hope to enter the MCW rings. MarylandWrestling.com contacted Stevie Richards for his reaction, but he has not replied. We hope to have more for you in the near future. We can confirm that SugarMask/Danny Doring are not going to be in Dundalk on August 7th and Stevie Richards also is not booked for this event.
