When Ryan McBride & Teddy Stigma won the Maryland Championship Wrestling Tag Team titles at MCW Holiday Hell '08, their first challengers were already chomping at the bit.
Earlier that night, Bruce Maxwell & TJ Cannon "The Best Around" defeated Team Macktion in a #1 Contenders match. When asked about their title shot, Maxwell had this to say "We have been chasing Ryan & Teddy up and down the East Coast for the past 6 months. Now we have them where we want them. Not only will we beat them, but we will shatter their dream of being MCW Tag Team Champions." Cannon added "Their lovey dovey post match celebration made me sick. MCW staff coming out and hugging them. Yeah, just make it obvious who the hometown boys are. After WE win those belts on February 21st, we will raise the flag of the wrestling capital of the world, CANADA, and we dont need the fans cheers or locker room hugs to tell us that we are The Best Around!"
After hours of signing autographs and taking pictures in the Green Room after winning the belts, the new tag champs sat down with MarylandWrestling.com and Ryan had this to say "Yes, we have fought The Best Around in Jersey and in Pennsylvania and on February 21st, the battle will continue. I remember sitting in the crowd at MCW events when I was a kid and I am not going to let two punks like Cannon and Maxwell take these belts away from Teddy & I." Stigma was quick to jump in with his thoughts "Cannon & Maxwell are great athletes, dont get me wrong. But Ryan and I have fought long and hard for these belts and its going to take alot to get them away from us."
So be there on February 21st when you can see the next stage of MCW Tag Team greatness hit the ring. Continuing the tradition of teams like Joey & Christian, The Headbangers, The Ghetto Mafia and The Holy Rollers, we will see two tag teams that could take MCW into the future, as tag team champions Ryan McBride & Teddy Stigma make their 1st defense against The Best Around.
