Kim McDevitt signs local Legend
to a new multi year deal!

Baltimore, MD - Multiple times Independent champion, Bobby Starr was signed this past week to a multi year deal. Many people have seen Bob as of late at the MCW shows working in something of a strange capacity as of late at the MCW shows. After spending some 17 years in the pro wrestling business, MCW Owner Dan McDivit contacted Bob about a return as of MCW Resurrection. When signing on with the company some 3 months later Bob never thought to read the fine print in the one year deal that was to be signed at that time.

"Ya know I took Dan for his word. I met him when he first got into the business and even though we didn't always see eye to eye, I thought their was some sort of respect their. I never thought I would be signing myself into some bullshit agent / referee position for the company... I never thought to read the fine print, in which it stated I would be performing for the company but in a way that I never have before and that on top of all that it stated specifically that [At no time during the duration of this agreement shall talent be signed into singles and or tag team matches to compete].

"I got a call from Dan some time after the old MEWF folded or should I say imploded due to my old partners habits and off the wall decisions, he said that he wanted me to come to work and yeah I was sitting home, who wouldn't take a deal to get off their ass when they still want to be a part of the business, not to mention I missed my friends that I had made over the years. Little did I know when I got there, I walked into the locker-room and someone threw me a referee shirt and said good luck!"

"It's been a long year, but I fulfilled every aspect of my deal with Dennis and Dan. Just recently I received a phone call from Kim McDevitt, and what she had to say was pretty interesting. She informed me that at a meeting with Dan and the MCW lawyers, Dan had a list of talents that were to be cut and or scaled down and after all I had done in and out of the ring for Dan, Dennis and MCW I was on the top of that list. Kim went on to tell me that it made her sick to her stomach when she returned to MCW to see me conducting interviews dealing with photographers for the website and doing some bulls**t agent job after all I had done in the business, and for the owners in general. Never the less I met with the bunch and was told that I was being offered a mere 2 appearance guarantee for 2008, and that any other appearances would be at their digression, and if that deal wasn't satisfactory that I could sign my outright release from the company all together, so after about an hour talking about it and a few nudges from Kim I signed an outright release and walked out."

"What Kim had to say on the parking lot after the meeting and the following day is what was interesting, theirs no need to disclose at this time but here's the long and short of it, I have a new multi year deal with MCW, at a higher rate of pay. On November 4th, everyone will see just what I am made of. Kim has made certain concessions in my deal to allow me to bring several of my old as well as new friends into the light as their deals were either coming due or never even considered by the company. On Nov. 4 I will bring a tag team with me that will not only take over the tag team division but will open up the eyes of "The powers that be." Tag Team Titles are the least of their worries, they are tired of being over looked just like myself and they are all steamed up and ready to go. I have met and worked and kept in contact with some of the biggest stars in the wrestling business over the last 17 years, and now all those stars are available to Ms. McDevitt. It’s high time that us Old Timers show the young bucks how it’s done! Theirs a new MCW on the horizon and thanks to Ms. McDevitt I will be right in the middle of it."

Bob's first appearance in his new roll for the company and contract will start as of the November 4th show in Dundalk at the MCW Arena. He has told us to look forward to seeing not only new talent coming into the MCW very soon but to watch for a new column on the MCW website, as Ms. McDevitt has as well granted him that within his new deal. We will have more information on this as it becomes available, it looks as if it will be a vary "Long Cold Winter" in Maryland Championship Wrestling.
